Thennampalayam Fish Market adjacent to Palladam road located in ward no. 50 in zone 3, occupying an area of 1.06 acres, with 18 shops, with a single entry and exit via Palladam road.

Maximum footfall was noticed on Sunday resulting in parking problem and also although public toilets are available, they are not well maintained creating a sanitation problem, fish waste is also dumped in the corner of the market.

The market needed an upgrade because of lack of proper hygiene, parking problem, over crowding and some other problems.

Proper entry and exit is planned for the easy movement of vehicles, shops will be redeveloped and there will be 28 nos. od shops, with proper access, 8 CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor movement around the market, toilet block and proper loading and unloading bays will be developed

Project cost is estimated around INR 2.17 Cr.

Projected revenue from the site is estimated to be around INR 20.71 lacs which will be inclusive of rent from shops, vehicles entry fees etc.

Return on the investment will be recovered from the annual revenue generated from the site after excluding the cost of maintenance within a few years.
