Description
In the city of Tiruppur the drainage system were not in a very good condition as the drainage was damaged, water logging was reported on private lands and various manholes were getting chocked frequently.
As the drainage system was in a bad condition it was overdue for an upgrade in which new system should be properly planned and installed.
The new project aimed to redevelop and restore Noyyal river identified under ABD area of tiruppur smart city and revitalize the river and canals from the surrounding neighbor hoods providing safe and convenient mobility corridor for everyone.
Facilities that will be made available for the users will include a public park with amenities like amphitheater, food kiosk, children play area, etc.
Investment to be done for the project is estimated around at a total cost of INR 163.33 Cr, which will be divided into 6 packages that include but are not limited to:
- Providing baby channel for the Noyyal river in both north side and south side with a estimated cost of INR 30.50 Cr for North side and INR 29 Cr for south side
- Formation of BT road and footpath using paver block and chain link fence is INR 29.00 Cr

With the new drainage system in place there are no more water loggings in the private areas and manholes are not clogged any more, making the places more hygienic and better.
Now with the proper pathways developed we can safely walk or ride out cycles and don’t have to worry about incoming traffic or pedestrians
Now that food kiosks are there near the river front, we can have a great meal by the side of the river and after that we can spend time our family in the park
With the new park that is developed we can now spend time with our families there, kids have fun in play area and amphitheater is a great place to relax after a long day of work.
In the new development plan the proper drainage and sewerage system that is laid in place and the issues of clogging and improper hygiene are resolved and residents also have a safe path to commute and also spend time at the newly developed river front side.
