Reconstruction of the Daily Market

The reconstruction of the Daily Market, which is located in the heart of Tiruppur city, opposite the Old Bus Stand, is a significant project proposed and implemented under the Smart Cities Mission. The market has already catered to nearly two lakh users, and the numbers are expected to increase after the market is open for public use.

The daily market that existed before the implementation of the smart city project functioned as an integrated market with many different types of shops. However, due to improper planning, management, and facilities, there were many problems like traffic congestion inside and outside the market, a lack of space resulting in an unmanaged crowd, the absence of designated parking lots creating chaos, the old and damaged market building, inadequate basic facilities like drinking water, drainage, toilets, and solid waste disposal, and informal vendors along the carriageway dramatically reducing lane width.

In order to address the above-mentioned issues in the previously existed market, the TSCL (Tiruppur Smart City Ltd.) decided to redesign and reconstruct it. The proposal made by TSCL was approved, and the reconstruction of the daily market is currently in progress.

As per the new design approved and implemented, the daily market is raised on a total build up area of 4161.44 sq m; the basement parking area covers 5306.95 sq m. The new building has a ground floor and first floor, with the basement allocated for parking (85 four wheelers and 253 two wheelers). The three floors will have three blocks each. The total number of shops proposed is 396, which includes vegetable shops, grocery shops, banana leaf and betel leaf shops, coconut shops, iron shops, flower shops, meat selling shops, fancy stores, and tea and snack shops.

A total of 40 restrooms are being constructed, with 6 men’s WC, 22 men’s urinals and 12 women’s WC. The SWM pits will cover an area of 93.41 sq m. There are six pedestrian entries to the daily market. The daily market will have adequate drinking water facilities, CCTV surveillance, firefighting equipment, lighting, sewage disposal, and appropriate garbage collection.

The total budget sanctioned for the Reconstruction of the Daily Market is Rs. 28.99 crore. A total revenue of Rs, 150.02 lakh per annum is expected from shop rent, parking fees, vehicle entry fees, and pay and use toilets.

முன்னர் இருந்த சந்தையில் மேலே குறிப்பிட்டுள்ள சிக்கல்களைத் தீர்ப்பதற்காக, TSCL (திருப்பூர் ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டி லிமிடெட்) அதை மறுவடிவமைப்பு செய்து புனரமைக்க முடிவு செய்தது. TSCL வழங்கிய முன்மொழிவுக்கு ஒப்புதல் அளிக்கப்பட்டதை தொடர்ந்து தினசரி சந்தையின் புனரமைப்பு வேலைகள் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.

அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டு நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்பட்ட புதிய வடிவமைப்பின்படி, தினசரி சந்தை 4161.44 சதுர மீட்டர் பரப்பளவில் உருவாக்கப்படுகிறது; அதில் அடித்தள பார்க்கிங் பகுதி 5306.95 சதுர மீட்டர் பரப்பளவில் இருக்கும். புதிய கட்டிடத்தில் தரை தளம் மற்றும் முதல் தளம் இருக்கும். அடித்தளம் வாகன நிறுத்தத்திற்க்காக (parking) ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது (85 நான்கு சக்கர வாகனங்கள் மற்றும் 253 இரு சக்கர வாகனங்கள்).

மூன்று தளங்களிலும் தலா மூன்று தொகுதிகள் இருக்கும். காய்கறி கடைகள், மளிகை கடைகள், வாழை இலை மற்றும் வெற்றிலை கடைகள், தேங்காய் கடைகள், இரும்பு கடைகள், பூக்கடைகள், இறைச்சி விற்பனை கடைகள், ஃபேன்சி கடைகள் மற்றும் தேநீர் மற்றும் சிற்றுண்டி கடைகள் உட்பட மொத்தம் 396 கடைகள் முன்மொழியப்பட்டுள்ளன.

மூன்று தளங்களிலும் தலா மூன்று தொகுதிகள் இருக்கும். காய்கறி கடைகள், மளிகை கடைகள், வாழை இலை மற்றும் வெற்றிலை கடைகள், தேங்காய் கடைகள், இரும்பு கடைகள், பூக்கடைகள், இறைச்சி விற்பனை கடைகள், ஃபேன்சி கடைகள் மற்றும் தேநீர் மற்றும் சிற்றுண்டி கடைகள் உட்பட மொத்தம் 396 கடைகள் முன்மொழியப்பட்டுள்ளன.

தினசரி சந்தையின் புனரமைப்புக்காக அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட மொத்த பட்ஜெட் ரூ. 28.99 கோடி. கடை வாடகை, பார்க்கிங் கட்டணம், வாகன நுழைவு கட்டணம், கழிப்பறைகளை செலுத்துதல் மற்றும் பயன்படுத்துதல் ஆகியவற்றின் மூலம் ஆண்டுக்கு ரூ. 150.02 லட்சம் மொத்த வருவாய் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
