Knowledge Centre and Study Centre
The Knowledge Centre and Study Centre project is an important part of the Smart City Initiative in the city of Tiruppur. The knowledge centre-cum-library is sure to make a positive difference among the student population in the city.
As far as Tiruppur is concerned, it is a significant industrial city in the country. Besides, the density of population in the city is really high. However, there wasn’t a large public library and knowledge centre in the city to fulfil the needs of students appearing for competitive exams and others who wished to have a public library to access and read books, magazines, newspapers, and other sources of knowledge and information.
To make sure there is a well-equipped knowledge and study centre that is easily accessible for the public, the corporation proposed the construction of a knowledge and study centre in Tiruppur. The fact that a knowledge centre with a library plays a crucial role in the society by providing access to resources and information, supporting education and literacy, promoting lifelong learning, and serving as a gather place for the general public.
The knowledge and study centre, proposed under the Smart Cities Mission, is being constructed in the heart of the city, at Nanjappa Municipal Boys Higher Secondary School in Rayapuram, Tiruppur. The main objective of the construction of this modern knowledge centre cum library is to benefit students from all backgrounds preparing for competitive exams.
The knowledge centre is being planned in such a way that it will comprise training classes and e-learning platforms besides a vast range of books, magazines, newspapers, journals, articles, and question banks. The centre will pave the way for the aspiring student community to empower themselves with information and knowledge from varied sources.
The planning of the knowledge centre focuses on sustainability and energy efficiency to create a vibrant outlook for the building. Steps are taken to provide sufficient cross ventilation and natural lighting to develop a calm and serene environment, most suitable for learning.
The knowledge and study centre will feature an entrance lobby, a computer zone for e-learning, a general reading room with adequate furniture and a vast set of reading material, fans, lighting, drinking water facilities, power backup, a children activity area, toilet, and a proper sewage disposal system.
The construction of the knowledge centre is in the verge of completion and will be soon open for public use.
